Ground Blessing

Thank you for joining us in our celebration of the St. Philomena Parish Family. Our growing parish welcomed Bishop Daniel Jenky of the Diocese of Peoria, to bless the ground for the construction of a Parish Center. We were also honored by the presence of Mayor Jim Ardis of the City of Peoria, who generously offered a proclamation of support for this reinvestment in our neighborhood. Thank you to all who have worked toward this goal supported its completion.

Ground Blessing Weather Update

Dear friends,

Today, March 13, 2016, Bishop Jenky will come to St. Philomena Church at 1 pm for the blessing of the ground and cornerstone.  Mayor Ardis will also read a proclamation from the City of Peoria.  Because of the rain, we will be inside the church for the blessing and prayer service.  After the time of blessing and prayer, we will take a few pictures inside.  If it is not raining after the blessing, we will process outside for a ceremonial dig.  You are still invited to bring a shovel to participate and be part of a group picture.  We will instruct those desiring to participate to get their shovels from their cars after our time of prayer in church.  I hope you are able to join us today at 1 pm.

God bless,

Fr. David
